In the urban context of the Pedreira Italiana neighbourhood, marked by a lack of unity between the dwellings, a conceptual approach was adopted using the archetype of the house as a way to harmonise the landscape and the visual tangle of buildings, streets, and paths. This space results from the degradation of Lisbon’s urban fabric since the mid-20th century, reflecting a denial of what could have been and a paradigm of what should be. The proposal establishes a juxtaposition with the neighbouring buildings, acting as a form of resistance to spontaneous constructions. It thus reaffirms the richness of simple gestures and serves as the basis for the design of two ways of living.
