Within the urban context of the Pedreira Italiana neighbourhood, marked by a lack of unity between dwellings, it was felt that a conceptual approach that used the archetype of the house would serve as a soothing design for the landscape and the visual tangle of buildings, streets and paths that forms a space that is the result of the degeneration of Lisbon's urban fabric in the mid-20th century. It is a denial of what could have been and a paradigm of what should be. It is a jarring juxtaposition to adjacent constructions, an act of permanent guerrilla warfare against spontaneous buildings. It is a complete affirmation of the richness of simple and refined gestures, a pretext and impetus for the drawing of two ways of living.
